This is a Meritage that needs time to resolve itself. Fruit hides behind some mildly aggressive tannins and pencil shaving flavours – you’ll find mainly cassis with a baker’s cocoa bitterness – give it time and that fruit should ‘pop’, but for now hold.  Price: $22.79 – Rating: *** ½
