A totally different take on Vinhao, treated like an actual red wine instead of a Beaujolais Nouveau: 50% wood aged (9 months, 2nd fill barrels), 50% stainless (to retain some fruitiness) … vanilla, black raspberry, black cherry, black currant with plenty of that tell-tale acidity Vinhao is known for and there’s even a slight bitterness mid-palate because of it; but this wine is still approachable with a touch of pepperiness on the long finish full of lovely red and black fruit.
