Mendes loves his Alvarinho grape and makes a majority of his wines using it. This version spends 6 months in used French oak with batonnage to keep the lees moving and in contact with a majority of the wine. Aromas of floral, beeswax, vanilla and peach lead to a palate that has a nice creamy-spicy nature with good acidity on the finish … a delicate wine with a Chardonnay-esque quality to it.
