This is a Gruner Veltliner that is not the usual fresh and fruity number you find, instead it spent 18 months in oak to give it some rich complexity and subtle nuances not usually found in Gruner: vanilla, pear, apple with a richness of mouthfeel that’ll make you think Chardonnay-with-a-twist.  Rating: ****
