It starts out soft and subtle, giving off aromas of coffee, cassis and smoke and continues that way across the palate and ends with silky tannins: along the way fruit coyly peaks through, not yet ready to completely expose itself, and the minerality also hides within the oaky-smoky cocoon. More feminine in nature than the Alle Mura Brunello, but no less enjoyable, give it a couple of years for the fruit to fully express itself. Drink: 2020-2032. Rating: ****+
