Not exactly entry level (that’s the market series), but not yet part of the reserve line (exclamation series) this wine sits somewhere in the middle, yet delivers more than middling results. Nineteen months in French oak barrels has given this wine some real character, and the good 2015 vintage helped it along too. There’s a lovely raspberry fruit forward nature with underlying spices, blackberry and cigar box that carries right through to the lengthy finish. Price: $28.00 – Rating: ****+
