(Tasted 2019) … This is a 60 months on lees (5 years) blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay that has an oxidative quality to it, but that is not what defines it. Sure there’s a funky mushroom and almondine note, but it is complimented by vanilla bean and bosc pear … could that be from the Reciotto Chardonnay dosage? I think so, I also believe the 3 month of natural fermentation in barrel helps give the wine a biscuit and toasty quality which also comes via that 5 year on lees. Acidity is also quite good.
