Made in honour of the retiring president of Niagara College (and what a wine to be dedicated to you). A 43% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 22% Syrah aged 21 months in all French oak. It starts off smoky adds dark fruits and tobacco to the mid-palate before ending with raspberry, cedar and the return of that smokiness on the long finish … This wine has some years ahead of it where that fruit is going to finally shine through all that smoke.
