First time Dan Sullivan has used “cherrywood” - mostly heads of barrels and staves - but it has worked out well and he should definitely do this again ... Nice richness on the palate with lifted cherry on the nose ... The palate has a lovely juiciness and is very friendly to the tongue with lots of red fruit and a hint of that tell-tale Pinot earthiness - plus there's some smoke and even some minerality, plus the length on the finish has you craving more – Like any good cherry pie would, and this one definitely has those undertones.
