(March 3, 2019) ... About a month ago I had a Concha y Toro that was a little past its prime from the exact same year as this Marques de Casa Concha, which is why I wanted to open this wine and see where it was in its evolution, and the one word that past my lips was "wow", this wine was so far from being past it was almost fresh - I even had a friend who was over for dinner take a sip, we looked at each other with surprise and awe and then she didn't relinquish the glass for the rest of the night ... what a total beauty this one is with chocolate, black licorice, black cherry, blackberry and hints of vanilla - it was still fresh and lively with good acidity and silky tannins backing it all up.
