Special Edition Newsletter : The Rose Report 2019

28 Jun 2019

What's this All About ...

So far this year I have tasted a lot of rosés, I have actually gone out of my way to taste rosé – I tasted at home, at wineries, in a large scale tasting for the Wine Writers’ Circle, and I have gone to Vintages tastings (which have been somewhat devoid of rosé, despite the LCBO bringing the stuff in by the bucket load) … and at each of these tastings I have made careful, well thought out notes, checked them twice and have come up with a list of 45, which have turned out to be the ones I feel are worthy of your hard earned dollars.

In the newsletter below I have cobbled together my top five Canadian rosés (4 Ontario / 1 BC) – you can also click this link to see the complete up-to-the-minute list and the reviews of the remaining forty wines.

What I’m happy to say is that “Premium Rosé” (wines over $20), those that would come out for a special ‘Pink Afternoon’, are worth their price (thankfully) but there are still a plethora under $20 that are also well worth whiling away the day on the deck, dock or patio and could happily be served through a garden hose (metaphorically speaking).
