(February 12, 2015) ... It took me some time to figure out what winery this bottle came from, my best guess is Casella (makers of Yellowtail?) - if my facts are wrong here someone please jump in and tell me. This was another one of those bottles from the Virgin Wine Club I hauled back over the border and drank on this side, and I would have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The aromas were what I expected from Australian wine made from Shiraz and Durif (aka Petite Sirah), lots of plum, vanilla, blackberry, black cherry but with only hints of white pepper; all followed onto the palate with a creamy, smooth mouthfeel and finish. I would have wanted a little more pepperiness to this one, but all in all a real crowd pleaser.
