On the Road with the Grape Guy

On the Road with the Grape Guy is a on-going feature that follows me from event to event ... I post my thoughts, feelings and reviews of what happened and what I tasted ... basically it is here that I review the events I attend and the things that thrilled me.

Report from - Day 2 in Portugal: Oporto and Dao ... February 13, 2012

15 Feb 2012

Day 2 in Portugal sees us going to places like the Taylor Cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, Lunch at the Comercial at the Palacio da Bolsa ... all in Oporto, then moving the whole kit and caboodle down to the Dao region to visit with Alvaro de Castro and Paco dos Cunhas de Santar to taste wine, before having dinner and stay in a freak "Grande Hotel" ... red-rum red-rum ... you'll see what I mean in this pictorial look at Day 2 in Portugal. Report from - Oporto, Portugal - Day 1, Arrival and Walk Around ... February 12, 2012

12 Feb 2012

Left Toronto at 5:30 Saturday afternoon in the middle of a snow storm ... the first of the year ... arrived at Oporto 10:55am local time (they are 5 hours ahead of us) ... it's been a long day, but things don't stop just because I got out of an airplane, there are things to see and do. Like check-in to the hotel, check out the shower and walk around Oporto during some free time before dinner in the hotel restaurant ... here is the pictorial evidence of the day beginning with an oddly placed shower in the room ... (see the video evidence on the Blog by clicking here)
