This is the full on five-grape version of the Laura's Red, if memory serves (and it might) this was the first year all five Bordeaux grapes went into the Laura's: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Time has been good to Laura as she continues to age gracefully, both in bottle and in glass. Nose is most prominent with anise, cassis, and mocha aromas; these follow onto a complex palate that adds oak, cedar, coffee, and spice to the above. Finish is smooth with cafe mocha and dried dark fruit linger ... Laura, from 2007, is still a real beauty and one you'll want to hang in with for the length of an evening, she may even have a few years left in her.
