Taste it Again / Lost & Found

On occasion, I’ll take a wine I like and put it away in a “special box” for a few years to see how it will age … below you will read happened to those wines. On the other hand, there are wines that get “lost” in my wine cellar with nary a review ever written - some have turned into golden Treasures, others supreme Trash and then there are those that fall somewhere in-between (Tolerable). We’ll look at those here too. (New wines are being added all the time so keep coming back):

June 5, 2009 - 4 Wines Take the Taste it Again Plunge

05 Jun 2009

Believe it or not I've been busy over the last little while pulling bottles out and trying them for my Taste it Again program ... First out of the gate (or the box actually) was a bottle fo Mountain Road Wine Company 2002 Cabernet Franc ; the came a bottle from the Lake Erie North Shore, Colchester Ridge Estate Winery 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot ; finally, two from Chateau des Charmes to compare the ageing of these two similar yet distinctly different wines:  2002 St. David's Bench Cabernet Sauvignon and 2002 Paul Bosc Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon ... take a read and see what time has done to each of these bottles.

20 May 2009

Many who have been following my 2005 Ontario Riesling chronicles know that I have been disappointed in the amount of petrol that has found its way into these still young wines ... yes I expect petrol in Riesling, but not so soon and not in such high quantity; that's why the Mastronardi 2005 Brianje Riesling came as quite a surprise ... find out why by clicking through to the Lost and Found report.
