Taste it Again / Lost & Found

On occasion, I’ll take a wine I like and put it away in a “special box” for a few years to see how it will age … below you will read happened to those wines. On the other hand, there are wines that get “lost” in my wine cellar with nary a review ever written - some have turned into golden Treasures, others supreme Trash and then there are those that fall somewhere in-between (Tolerable). We’ll look at those here too. (New wines are being added all the time so keep coming back):

April 9, 2009 - Taste it Again: Three Wines from the County

09 Apr 2009

My first major foray into Prince Edward County, back in 2006, is starting come due.  What do I mean by that?  Well, while I was there I bought and tried lots of county wines, some of which I decided to put into a case, seal up, write a future date on the box for my re-try, and now these wines are coming due.  So over the past two weeks I have tried three of these wines and the results can be found by clicking on the wine you want to know about:

Rosehall Run 2004 St. Cindy Pinot Noir
The Grange of Prince Edward County 2004 Cabernet-Merlot
Huff Estates 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc

In truth all are an interesting snapshot of a region just starting to find its roots.
