From the Cellar

Just because I started a website called OntarioWineReview.com doesn't mean it's All-Ontario-All-the-Time. When I kick back at night my mood (and sometimes my curiosity) decides my wine of choice. And the title should read, "Uncorked and Un-Screwed Tonight" ... but that just sounds wrong.

 Perrin & Fils 2009 Vinsobres

(December 3, 2017) ... I have faith in Rhone Valley wines and this Perrin Vinsobres did not disappoint, as with it's brother yesterday the bottle "spoke" to me as I walked into the cellar, "it's time". As mentioned I have had this wine before, I was impressed then, and I'm impressed now. This one starts off a little gritty and chalky but then smooths out delivering on spiced-plum and delicious black raspberry. (read yesterday's Perrin here)

Perrin & Fils 2008 Rasteau L'Andeol

(December 2, 2017) ... Last time I pulled off this two-fer I was away in Ottawa and tried a bottle a night, seems like I'm about to do it again. This time I'm home, it's the weekend and these bottles just started talking to me as I walked in the cellar, "it's time, drink me" ... And this one was right: smooth blackberry, white pepper, hints of graphite and pencil shavings with touches of anise - very tasty and sippable - tomorrow night I'll try the other Perrin. (read what happened here).
